Thalapathy Vijay who overcame several failures and rejections in his early days to today being hailed as the topmost hero in Tamil cinema. For his past few films he has been receiving salaries in the region of rupees 100 crores and 125 crores so far. Sources say that apart from a salary the charismatic star will be getting a major share in the profits of his current movie 'Leo'.

Now to top it all the hot talk in the trade now is that Vijay has been offerred the remuneration of rupees hundred and fifty crores for his next 'Thalapathy 68'. It this turns out to be true then Vijay will be the highest paid actor in South Indian cinema. Though there were several directors and production houses in talks it is now more or less confirmed that Venkat Prabhu will be helming the film and AGS Entertainment will be bankrolling.

Trade analysts opine that the amount is justified as on the very day of the pooja of his films Vijay's salary will be recoverd from the sales of satellite and digital rights. Apart from that the 48 year old favorite hero of all age groups has extraordinary market in Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, northern states and foreign countries.
