As millions of fans eagerly await the release of Thalapathy Vijay's 'Mersal' this October 18, the film's release in the neighboring state of Kerala might face some obstacles.

Members of the Film Distributors Association (FDA) in Kerala have advised theatres to not release Mersal’ citing the failure of Vijay's 'Bhairavaa'. The FDA also has stated that it will release ‘Mersal’ only if the losses incurred are compensated.

However, the organisation that releases 'Mersal' in Kerala called Global United Media has negated any association with regards to FDA's statements and have sent a request to FDA to allow the release of the film.

With 'Mersal' directed by Atlee about to release in 250 theatres in Kerela, this incident has cause distraught among fans.  It is expected that the issue will be resolved favorably before the film’s release on October 18.
