With just three days to go for a grand Deepavali release of 'Mersal' ('Adirindhi' in Telugu), the problems affecting the release of Thalapathy Vijay's 61st film are still persisting. The film is yet to get Censor certification because the Animal Welfare Board of India has not issued an NOC. It's only after the makers get an NOC that the Censor Board can go ahead with certification.
As a resolution to the issue has not been forthcoming, the film's producer requested Vijay to intervene. The superstar on Sunday afternoon called on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy at the latter's official residence at Greenways Road, Chennai.
The actor discussed the outstanding issues with the CM. He also thanked the CM for reducing the local body tax and fixing the movie ticket prices.
The movie is scheduled to hit the screens on Oct 18 in both Tamil and Telugu.
