The restults of the rural local body elections in Tamil Nadu is out and as expected the ruling DMK party has emerged the clear winner. 169 candidates belonging to the Vijay Makkal Iyakkam contested the elections as independents out of whom 13 won unopposed.
Today in the counting the VMI has registered a decent 51 seats in the local body elections which has not only surprised the poltical circles but also analysts. The Vijay fan club president Bussy Anand has expressed his happiness over win that stands as proof of the actor's charisma in the state.
Incidently candidates from parties of seniors from the film indusry such as Kamal Haasan's 'MNM', Seeman's Naam Tamilar Katchi and Vijayakanth's DMDK have not won a single seat.
Vijay meanwhile is busy shooting his next movie 'Beast' directed by Nelson and produced by Sun Pictures that has Pooja Hegde as the leading lady.
