Ilayathalabathi` Vijay`s 2014 super hit Tamil film Jilla` was dubbed in Telugu and released in Andhra Paradesh and Telangana. Now the Telugu version of Jilla` added with a separate comedy track of Brahmanadnam has been declared a super hit.

Jilla` Telugu is considered as a first super hit film for Vijay in Telugu. This is because the producers Tamatam Kumar Reddy and Prasad Sannidhi who dubbed the film in Telugu played it safe and quoted moderate prices for the distribution rights in AP while they themselves distributed the film in Nizam (areas in Telangana). The film that released in July 24 seems to have collected the cost of theatrical release within five days in AP. The approximate gross theatrical collections are reported as Rs.3.5 crores out of which the distributors have netted a share of Rs.2 crore.
