Vijay is a politician?

Ilayathalapathy' Vijay's upcoming film Kaththi' is facing a lot of pressures relating to politics since a group of political groups has called for a ban on the film for its producer and the owner of Lyca Entertainments is allegedly close to Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakshe. But what will be interesting is that Vijay is playing a politician in this film a first in his two decade long career.
As we all know Vijay is playing dual roles in this A.R.Murugadoss directorial as the lead hero as well as villain. Sources reveal that the negative role played by Vijay will be that of a corrupt politician and the hero will be the one who will be raising voice for the welfare of the society and on a mission to save the people from corrupt politicians. The film has Samantha as playing Vijay's love interest and Sathish of Ethirneechal fame has an important role. Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh will be featured in another negative role.
Meanwhile Vijay seems to have decided to take the issues surrounding the release of the film in his hand. Sources close to the star revealed that he recently met the pro-Elam student groups protesting against the film and had a conversation with them. The heat of the issue seems to have subsided by the talk, the actor had with the students and it has moved a few precious inches towards the withdrawal of the call to ban to an extent.
Meanwhile Vijay, a rare visitor of social networking sites has posted yesterday “Once we have decided we should not wait and keep moving on”. This confident and assertive statement from their idol has pumped in the energy amongst the fans who were apprehensive of the film's release.
