Tentatively titled 'Thalapathy 67, sources say that Lalit Kumar of Seven Screen Studio will be bankrolling the upcoming venture. In a recent press meet, Lokesh confirmed that his next film will be in the gangster genre.

Fans were asking questions to Lokesh Kanagaraj in a recent interview. One of them asked, "You said that you were working on a gangster story in one of your old interviews. When will you direct that? script?" and Lokesh responded, "I will be directing that gangster story next." It is also being reported that 'Thalapathy 67' will be the script that Lokesh wrote for Superstar Rajinikanth.
