Thalapathy Vijay gifted Gold chains for the unit members of his 60th film 'Bairavaa' which released for Pongal this year. Now he has done the same for the unit members of his upcoming film 'Mersal' even as the shooting of the film itself is yet to be completed.

'Mersal' is being directed by Atlee and produced by Thenandal Studios Limited as their 100th project. The film stars Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha and Nithay Menen as female leads and it would feature A.R.Rahman's music. Vijay apparently plays triple roles in the film.

The shooting of 'Mersal' is fast nearing completion as the makers have set a Diwali release deadline. Now we learn from a reliable source that Vijay is pretty impressed with the way the film is coming out and he is also happy with all the crew members. Hence he has gifted gold coins to 150 members of 'Mersal' unit.
