Vijay gets Ram Charan's title

Ilayathalapathy Vijay and Atlee are working for a new movie titled Theri. The film is an action thriller and will see Vijay as a cop. Samantha and Amy Jackson are playing the leading ladies in this film. Vijay is rumoured to be seen in a dual role. The shooting of the film is progressing at rapid pace and producer Kalaipuli S Thanu is planning to release the film for Pongal, 2016 in Telugu and Tamil languages.

According to reports, the Telugu version is titled Merupu. The makers feel that the title is apt for the story. The title Merupu was quite familiar to Telugu audience as it was initially considered for Ram Charan's film with Dharani. But, the film was shelved due to various reasons and since then, Merupu was not chosen by any other filmmaker. Radhika Sarath Kumar and Prabhu are playing important roles, while GV Prakash is scoring the music.
