For quite some time it is being rumoured that Vijay fans are supporting a particular TN political party in the upcoming State Assembly Elections to show their angst against the incumbent government. It is to be noted that Vijay starrers in the last few years have faced one problem or other during the eleventh hour of release. But now the Akila India Ilayathalapathy Vijay Narpani Iyakkam or the Vijay Makkal Iyakkam, the official fan club of Vijay has denied this rumor. .

Excerpts of the official press statement from the Iyakkam's President Bussy N.Ananthu is given below:

"Vijay Makkal Iyakkam has decided to take a neutral stand in the upcoming election which means it does not support any party, directly or indirectly. Fans of Vijay can vote for the party they consider as the ideal choice. Members of the club should not use the name of Vijay or his fan club to endorse any party. Those who violate this rule will be subjected to penal action. There are rumors spreading around that VMI has decided to support a particular political party, which is completely untrue."

So, it is now clear that Vijay fans are going to vote for their favourite candidate, absolutely as per their own wish. The election will be conducted on May 16, 2016.
