Sarkar issue: Vijay's fan gets bail

Vijay’s Sarkar, directed by A.R. Murugadoss, has been subject to several controversies before and after the release of the movie.
Members of the AIADMK party had damaged the posters and banners of Sarkar earlier as the movie discussed matters involving the free commodities issued by the government. In an attempt to counter this, Vijay’s fans had threatened the government, ministers, and the members of AIADMK.
In one such case, Lingadurai, a fan of the actor, who was arrested for threatening minister C.V. Shanmugam through a Whatsapp message, has been issued an anticipatory bail by the Chennai High Court.
Fans of Vijay who had previously posted threatening videos on social media with arms were arrested as well.
