Looks like Vijay Deverakonda is already a national star. 'Liger' is going to be a mere formality required for trade pundits and media to call him a pan-India star. As far as the audience are concerned, they know him well across North India, it would seem from some of the recent events.
On Saturday, the star hero was at Patna's AN College to promote 'Liger'. While an estimate was made about the numbers that would attend the event, the actual turn-out was more than double the estimate. Fans from across the city gathered outside the college and made their way into the auditorium. The situation got out of hand and Deverakonda suspended the event.
Less than a week ago, Mumbai crowds at a mall went berserk in a similar fashion, forcing VD to dismiss the event.
As for 'Liger', the Puri Jagannadh directorial will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. The film also features Mike Tyson, Ronit Roy, Vishu Reddy, Ali, Makarand Desh Pandey and Getup Srinu. 'Liger' releases on August 25.
