It's known that 'Liger' is going to hit the screens on Aug 25. Ahead of the pan-Indian actioner's theatrical release. Vijay Deverakonda's mother today held a puja ceremony at their residence in Hyderabad. Ananya Panday, who is the film's heroine, also participated in the ceremony.

As per the 'Arjun Reddy' star, the mother prayed for the protection and well-being of the lead pair of the Puri Jagannadh directorial. He said that the love of people from across the world during Liger's fandom tour has been like blessings from the divine. But he respected his mother's religious sentiments nevertheless.

"This whole month touring across India and receiving so much love already felt like God's blessing! But Mummy feels we needed his protection. So Pooja and sacred Bands for all of us. Now she will sleep in peace while we continue our tour," the 'Geetha Govindam' star tweeted a while ago.

'Liger' is one of the most-awaited Telugu films of the year. "It is a complete Telugu film," Vijay recently said.

Vishu Reddy, Ramya Krishna, Ronit Roy and Mike Tyson have consequential roles in the movie.
