Young Bollywood star Ananya Pandey is currently busy with the promotion of her latest film 'Liger' in which she shares screen with Vijay Deverakonda. A superstar of Telugu cinema, Vijay is best known for his 2017 superhit film 'Arjun Reddy', which was criticised by many for its sexist and misogynistic undertones.
In her recent appearance on 'Koffee With Karan', Ananya Pandey stated that although she finds 'Arjun Reddy' problematic, she has no issues with Vijay himself. Expressing her thoughts about the film clearly, Ananya stated, “I would not advise any of my friends to be okay with it. But, that’s just how I am."
However, the actress also added that she didn't judge Vijay for portraying a flawed and abusive character. She said, “I don’t think I judged him for that. I didn’t know him. As actors, we are not what we portray on-screen."
“Our values and viewpoints of the world don’t have to entirely match the characters we play on screen. Since I met him, he has been extremely kind and chivalrous towards me. I didn’t see that connection or had that thought at all," Ananya concluded.
