The success event of 'Geetha Govindam' was held on Sunday. Vijay Deverakonda gave a heartfelt speech on the occasion.

"I didn't expect this success and I am embarrassed to say every time that I didn't expect it. There are three main people behind the success of this movie. Bunny Vasu garu convinced me that it's a universal film which everyone will like. But for him, I mightn't have done this movie out of confusion. If I have performed this well in the movie, it's only because of director Parasuram garu. It's he who knows character Vijay Govind in and out. I would just come to the sets, ask him to give me the scenes for the day and just do what he asks me to do. Allu Aravind sir decided that the film should hit the screens on August 15th. Although he never visited the sets, he was there in the Edit room always, taking crucial decisions. He gave me a free hand in promoting the film in my own style," Deverakonda said.

The actor showed his love for Megastar. "When we went to Chiranjeevi garu's residence to invite him to today's event, he spoke to us for one hour. He spoke of some scenes, mentioned dialogues from the film and told us how much he enjoyed them. I couldn't believe it! Chiru sir talking about all those things was incredible," Deverakonda said.
