Following the major box office success of Vijay Deverakonda’s 2017 Telugu film Arjun Reddy, the movie was signed to be remade in Tamil with Vikram’s son Dhruv Vikram in the lead. Owing to a dispute with the movie’s director Bala, the producers cancelled the release of ‘Varmaa.’ Soon after, it was announced that the entire movie was going to be reshot with a different cast, still retaining Dhruv in the lead.

While the first look of the movie along with its title ‘Adithya Varma’ was recently released, recent rumour is that Arjun Reddy’s lead Vijay Deverakonda has been roped in to play a significant role in the movie. An official announcement of the same is yet to be made.

Girasayya, the associate director who worked with Sandeep Vanga in Arjun Reddy is the director of Adithya Varma. Also starring ‘October’ fame Banita Sandhu and Priya Anand, the shooting of the movie is scheduled to begin in March.
