Actor Vijay Deverakonda couldn't contain his excitement when he discovered that the official Instagram page of the Olympics featured a mashup of a song from his movie "Geetha Govindam." Taking to his own Instagram, Vijay shared the video and expressed his happiness at seeing the song remain popular.

The official Olympics account recently shared a video on Instagram, showcasing the Eiffel Tower with the Olympic rings. In the background, a mashup of "Inkem Inkem" from "Geetha Govindam" and Drake's "Hotline Bling" played. Vijay captioned the video, "Some songs are forever #GeethaGovindam X Olympics."

Fans of the song were delighted to see it featured on the Olympics' official page. One fan humorously commented, "We got Olympics using a Telugu song before GTA 6." Another expressed surprise, saying, "Olympics using 'Geetha Govindam' song? Wah!!" Given that the song was composed by Gopi Sundar, one fan playfully mentioned, "Before Malayalis come claiming this song, I would like to tell them it is a Telugu mashup song." There was also appreciation for the Olympics' efforts to target a global audience.

"Geetha Govindam," directed by Parasuram Petla, was released in 2018 and starred Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles. The film, along with its songs, was a tremendous success. While Vijay collaborated with Parasuram again for "The Family Star," the film failed to replicate the success of "Geetha Govindam."

In other news, Vijay and Rashmika recently celebrated their 2019 film "Dear Comrade," which amassed over 400 million views on YouTube. Vijay has an upcoming film directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, while Rashmika is set to appear in "Pushpa 2," "Sikandar," "Kubera," "Rainbow," "The Girlfriend," and "Chhava."
