After becoming the opposition party leader of Tamil Nadu state assembly. Captain Vijayakanth stopped acting in films. But his fan following and respect he claims within the film industry remains intact- a fact proved by the number of wishes poured in from the who is who of Kollywood for his 66th birthday.

The list of Kollywood celebrities who wished the beloved Captain includes his peers Satyaraj and Prabhu, the present day superstar Ilayathalapathy`Vijay, young generation heroes Silamabrasan, Arya, Vemal, Vidharth, Vijay Vasanth, and actors Karunas, Kumki` Ashwin, Naren, Shanmugasundaram, M.S.Bhasker, John Vijay, Thambi Ramiah and last but not least –the Powerstar Srinivasan.

Director R.K Selvamani who directed Vijayakanth`s 100th film Captain Prabhakaran`, directors Manojkumar, Senthilnathan,Rajesh and Rajapandi, Producers Ramesh, Murugan, Arulpathy, Ramavasu, Soundhar, Editor Jayachandran and Music directors Thaman and Sathya also greeted the veteran actor on his birthday.

Apart from this a host of politicians cutting across party lines wished for the birthday of Vijayakanth and some of them also took the extra effort to pay a visit to him.

The social media, which was otherwise a ground of trolls on Vijayakanth was today filled with messages wishing the yesteryear superstar on his birthday and messages praising his philanthropic activities.

The much adored actor and brave politician has promptly sent out a statement thanking everyone who wished him on this special day.
