Music director turned actor Vijay Antony has so far acted in movies like Pichaikaran, Naan, Salim, all of which had music also composed by himself. The actor who has been on a rough patch, with back to back duds like Annadurai, Yaman, etc was last seen in the cop flick Thimiru Pudichavan.

Currently acting in a number of projects including Leelai director Andrew Louis' next Kolaigaran, Agni Siragural by Naveen of Moodar Koodam fame besides few more projects, the announcement of Vijay Antony's next project is out today. Vijay Antony's next has been titled Thamizharasan.

Thamizharasan marks the return of director Babu Yogeswaran who had made the Jayam Ravi - Renuka Menon starrer Daas way back in 2005, and this movie, touted to be an action thriller, will have music composed by Isaignani Ilayaraja. The movie which has cinematography by RD Rajsekhar, began shooting today.
