Vijay Antony's 'Pichaikaran' directed by Sasi released in the year 2016 became a blockbuster hit served as a major turning point in Vijay Antony's film career not only in Kollywood but increased his business in Tollywood and Bollywood too.

The sequel to the film titled 'Pichaikkaran 2' is in production and is directed by Vijay Antony himself. It has been reported that the team procured permission to shoot in the Rippon Building and Rajiv Gandhi Hospital premises in Chennai. However when drones were used they flew over to the Chennai High Court and Bar Council compound.

Naveen Kumar, Suresh and Rubesh, who operated the drones in the 'Pichaikaran 2' crew, were arrested for the offense and later released on bail. The film stars Vijay Antony, John Vijay, Hareesh Peradi and Kavya Thapar and is expected to be wrapped up soon.
