"Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan," an action thriller starring Vijay Antony, was released in theatres last Friday. Directed by Vijay Milton, the film follows a man seeking a peaceful life on an island, only to have his dark past resurface. The movie opened to a positive reception but soon found itself at the centre of controversy.
On the day of the film's release, director Vijay Milton stirred up the internet when he released a video claiming that a two-minute scene had been added to the film without his consent. He expressed concern that this unauthorized scene undermined the film's core plot, urging viewers not to be swayed by it.
Today, Vijay Antony addressed the situation with an official statement, assuring fans that the issue between the director and the producer has been resolved. He clarified that he was not responsible for the inclusion of the unauthorized scene, which has now been removed from theatres. Director Vijay Milton confirmed the same on social media, and this news has quickly gone viral.
Vijay Antony's statement says: "Mr Vijay Milton, my friend and the film's director, expressed his regret that the opening two-minute scene of 'Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan' has been included without his consent. It's not me, it's not Salim 2.
The producers and the director came to an understanding and decided to remove the unauthorized scene at the beginning of 'Mazhai Pidikkatha Manithan' from the theatres today. I am happy to inform you that this problem is over. I request all of you to support the movie by watching it in theatres."
Vijay Milton wrote, "tnx for the clarification @vijayantony sir. we have come a long way the journey was so comfortable we have a greater understanding and comfortable with each other because of the passion and focus in the craft. The problem between me and the producer was resolved by @realsarathkumar's intervention and the controversial scene was removed today. To all the friends who voiced 🙏🏻 (sic)."
