Earlier it was being reported that the shooting of Ilayathalapathi Vijay's upcoming film 'Theri' directed by Atlee will be wrapped up by Pongal 2016 and the teaser of the film would release on the grand Tamil festival day.

But now sources close to the unit reveal that the shooting is long from over and the film would not be wrapped by Pongal 2016. Apparently one song in the film remains to be shoot and the team has planned a 10-day schedule to shoot the song that will go beyond Pongal,.

Regarding the teaser release, the work on the teaser cut would begin only after the shooting is entirely over so the possibility of the 'Theri' teaser release for Pongal festival has been ruled out.

'Theri' stars Vijay, Amy Jackson, Samantha, Prabhu, Radhika Sarathkumar, Director J.Mahendran, Sathyaraj, 'Naan Kadavul' Rajendran and others. The film has been produced by Kalaipuli.S.Thanu under his V Creations banner. The film is expected to hit the screens on April 14, 2016.
