As the Diwali clash rages on between Karthi`s Kaashmora` and Dhanush`s Kodi` we took a look at the big star releases on the auspicious festival of lights for the past ten years and here is what we found.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay has had four releases on Diwali, Azhagiya Tamizh Magan` (2007 Flop), Velayudham`(2011 Super hit), Thuppakki` (2012 Blockbuster) and Kaththi` (2014 Blockbuster). Thala Ajith too has had four releases Varalaaru`(2006 Superhit), Aegan` (2008 Flop), Aarambam` (2013 Superhit) and Vedhalam` (2015 Blockbuster). Suriya has delivered three Diwali superhits in the form of Vel` (2007), Aadhavan` (2009) and 7 aam Arivu` (2011)

For Dhanush his Polladhavan` (2007) was a blockbuster while his Uttama Puthiran`(2010) was a hit and now with all the positive buzz for his 2016 release Kodi` looks like he will score a hattrick. Karthi`s 2013 Diwali release Azhaguraja` was a disappointment but his multi genre Kaashmora` hitting the screens this Friday is one of the most expected films of the year and is already a must watch on most moviegoers minds.
