Lyricist Madhan Karky has carved a niche for himself in the Tamil film industry. Within few years he has worked in the films of top directors like Mani Ratnam and almost all the leading heroes and production banner.
However there is a tough competitor for Madhan from within his household. Yes, we are referring to none other than the multiple national award winning veteran lyricist Vairamuthu who has penned powerful and meaningful thousands of super hit Tamil songs.
Vairamuthu in his latest Press release has stated that he was busy with his literary works last year and now he has shifted his focus again to cinema. He has also listed the number of films he is presently working on. The list includes some interesting projects like 'Vijay 60' and Mani Ratnam's upcoming film with Karthi and Sai Plalavi.
Actor Vijay's 60th film directed by Bharathan from the house of Vijaya Productions, the entire songs are being penned by him. Keerthi Suresh co stars with Vijay in this movie, Santhosh narayanan is Composing the music.
Director Mani Rathnam's next film with music by A.R. Rahman will have seven songs of Vairamuthu. Karthi and Sai pallavi are the lead actors of this venture.
Director Linguswamy's Tamil-Telugu bilingual venture starring Allu Arjun would witness eight of his songs in the Tamil version.
Surya - Samantha starrer '24' directed by Vikramkumar with Music from A.R. Rahman has songs penned by the veteran. The songs will be released within the end of this month and the film will be releasing in April.
Vijay Sethupathi – Tamanna starrer 'Dharmadurai' directed by Seenu ramaswamy gets all its songs from Vairamuthu under the music direction of Yuvan Shankar Raja.
Marudhu` starring Vishal and Sri Divya with D.Imman as music composer also has songs penned by Vairamuthu.
Vikramprabhu-Ranya Rao starrer 'Wagah' a screen story by G.N.R. Kumaravel gets its heart rending love lyrics.
Director Suseendhran's multi starrer with Udhayanidhi, Vishnu and Manjima Mohan gets all of its songs from the Kaviperarasu
The veteran lyricist has also stated that he keeps tuning himself to changing wavelengths and life styles of the present generation youngsters and that will reflect in his songs.
