Young director Vignesh Shivan is presently busy with the final stages of shooting for 'Thaana Serndha Koottam' which has the top league star Suriya and Keerthy Suresh playing the lead roles. The film is set in the year 1987 which incidentally is the year in which Vignesh was born.

Initially it was rumored that Nayanthara will play the female lead in this film but eventually Keerthy Suresh came on board.

In his recent interview to a Tamil weekly, the 'Naanum Rowdy Dhaan' director said that Nayanthara was never considered for the role and reports connecting her with the project are nothing but baseless rumors. He also said the heroine is a middle class girl in the film and he wanted a fresh face who has not acted with Suriya in the past and that's why Keerthy Suresh was roped in for the role.

Apart from Suriya and Keerthy, 'TSK' star cast includes Senthil, Ramya Krishnan, RJ Balaji, Sathyan and Suresh Menon. Anirudh Ravichander is providing the music score for the film. Director Vignesh Shivan has penned lyrics for all the songs in the film.
