Vignesh Shivan right from his debut movie 'Poda Podi' has put in a lot of effort to give audiences a new movie experience. His subsequent films 'Naanum Rowdy Dhaan', 'Thaana Serndha Kootam' and 'Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal' have all won the hearts of fans along with critical praise.
Hence there was a huge sensation when 'AK 62' was announced by Lyca Productions with Vignesh Shivan as director and Ajith Kumar as the hero. Unfortunately after a few months of pre-production Vignesh was replaced by Magizh Thirumeni due to creative differences and the project is expected to go on floors in March.
Vignesh Shivan is said to be determined to move ahead with a new project that would bring him back into the reckoning after the 'AK 62' controversy. According to reliable sources he is said to have held talks with Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International and the deal will be finalised soon. There is very less chance of Kamal acting in the film though.
The grapevine has it that Vijay Sethupathi will be playing one of the leads in the as yet untitled film. This is likely to be the third time the duo are working together after two super hits 'Naanum Rowdy Dhaan' and 'Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kadhal. The big news is that Pradeep Ranganathan of the sensational hit 'Love Today' fame has also been approached for the central character. The young actor director in terms of return on investment has delivered one of the biggest blockbusters in recent times and is currently much in demand as a leading man.
The sources say that an official announcement can be expected any time now. Looks like Vicky has opted to combine with three sensational heroes of different eras to compensate for his disappointment over 'AK 62'. Lets wait and see how this project develops in the coming days.
