Vidya Balan who won international acclaim for her performance in Parineeta as Lolita was recently in Pakistan to inaugurate a book. It was the Urdu version of Mo's Story by Mehnaaz Rehmatulla. She inaugurated the book with Michael Radford who has directed the English audio version of the same book.

It is said that Vidya was invited to do the honors because she fit the bill of an Asian woman who looks classical and has a reformist image. It seems Vidya is not scared of getting type cast. She prefers being a lady from the world of classics than a hottie.

She is doing Vidhu Vinod Chopra's film Ekklavya, Sudhir Mishra's Bahut Nikle Mere Armaan, Rituparno Ghosh's Sahib Biwi aur Ghulam, and may do Pradeep Sarkar's Devi Chaudharani. She is also giving herself a modern yet classy look in Nikhil Advani's Salam E Ishq and Raju Hirani's Munnabhai 2.
