'Entertainment, Entertainment, Entertainment' - Vidya Balan made this iconic statement and she will go to any extreme that she gives the best entertainment on screen. It is said that for a scene depicting domestic violence in her upcoming film, Hamari Adhuri Kahani, Vidya Balan was slapped three times by her co-star, Rajkumar Rao.

Revealed an onlooker at the set, "Rajkumar plays Vidya`s husband in the film. While the slap was part of the script, no one was expecting him to actually hit her. Usually, when it comes to actions such as these, actors just shoot make-believe scenes. The camera makes it all look real. So, when he slapped her for the first time, everyone was shocked." Apparently, the scene required three retakes, which is why Vidya was slapped thrice.

Director Mohit Suri confirmed that even he wasn`t expecting this. "I actually jumped out of my seat, but then I realised that Vidya was holding the scene well. That`s when it donned on me that both the actors had planned this in advance to make the scene look authentic," he explained.

Also starring Emraan Hashmi in lead, Fox Star Studios and Vishesh Films' 'Hamari Adhuri Kahani' releases on June 12.
