The Bollywood beauty Vidya Balan, known for her powerful and intense emotional performances in movies like Dirty Picture, Kahaani, No One Killed Jessica, to name a few, welcomed the new year in style, as she celebrated her 40th birthday with her friends and wellwishers in a retro-themed party yesterday.

The actress who is making her Telugu debut has recently expressed her desire to work with none other than Tollywood top director SS Rajamouli, as she revealed that she was amazed by his work in the Baahubali series, and his passion and dedication towards films, adding that she would love to work with the director soon.

Meanwhile, Vidya Balan, who was last seen on screen as the Housewife turned RJ in Tumhari Sulu, is all set to enter Tollywood playing NTR's wife Basavatarakam, in the biopic of NTR, directed by Krish and starring Nandamuri Balakrishna in the title role, and also has another biopic in pipeline, where she plays former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
