After 'Hamari Adhuri Kahani', Vidya Balan has moved on to Marathi territory. Buzz is that the talented beauty has bagged a biopic in Marathi, where she will essay the role of Geeta Bali, the popular actress of the Golden Era.

To be helmed by Shekhar Sartandel, the film is based on late actor-director Bhagwan Dada. It is said that the director wanted someone with a Indian face and Vidya was found to be fitting the bill perfectly. She also underwent a look test. "As Geetaji was a Hindi film star, Vidya won't need to speak Marathi," quoted Shekhar in an interview.

On the other hand, the 'Kahani' actress is said to be quite elated to be playing the effervescent Geeta Bali. Even though it will be a cameo role, Vidya is looking forward to work on the project.
