Director Suseenthiran's 'Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu' and 'Azhagar Samiyin Kuthirai' had some dialogues against Caste discrimination. His 'Jeeva' dealt with the domination of a particular caste in selection of Cricketers for Tamil Nadu state level team. However his latest release 'Maveeran Kittu' is a strong and resounding voice against atrocities and violence unleashed by dominant caste people against the oppressed caste mostly Dalits.
The film is being celebrated by anti-caste activists and politicians. Viduthalai Siruthaigal Katchi founder Thol Thirumavalavan recently watched 'Maveeran Kittu' and praised the film to skies.
"The voice of the oppressed has echoed aloud in 'Maveeran Kittu'. The film portrays the truths of the society. Mainly the impact of caste in our lives has been portrayed in a highly realistic manner. Not only the director but also the producer and dialogue writer have very boldly registered many important points. Yugabharathy`s dialogue "we are not opposing the people with authority we oppose the authority itself" is a strong declaration. The film is the testimonial of how the power of authority oppresses the poor man. The film explains how the Police officers, Government officers and Political leaders support and uphold the caste hierarchy setup.
The film is a strong lash on those who try to exploit caste differences for their political benefits. It also shows how there traitors within the oppressed castes and how these people spoil the struggle for equal treatment. Within this caste setup, there people with democratic values belonging dominant caste. This is portrayed with the heroine`s father character brilliantly played by Perera. No struggle against the caste oppression will succeed without the involvement of democratic forces within the dominant castes."
