After the tremendous critical and commercial success of 'Asuran' starring Dhanush, director Vetrimaran directed the story 'Oer Iravu', one of the four episodes featured in the anthology web series 'Paava Kadhaigal' in which Sai Pallavi acted in the lead role.

Currently the acclaimed filmmaker is shooting his new film 'Viduthalai' based on Jayamohan's short story 'Thunaivan'. Soori is playing the lead role for the first time in his career with Bhavani Sre pairing with him. Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi appears in a very pivotal character that is said to be a major highlight. Ilayaraja is composing the music while Elred Kumar is producing under the banner RS Infotainment.

Brand new stills of 'Viduthalai' have now stormed the internet showing an intense Vijay Sethupathi as a handcuffed convict and Soori as a cop. Prakash Raj also has a supporting character with Gautham Vasudev Menon in a special appearance. The film is nearing completion and is expected to be showcased in major international film festivals before a theatrical release.
