Vetrimaaran's 'Viduthalai 1' released earlier this year and was received with high critical praise as well as scored big at the box office. Recently the ace director started shooting the remaining portions of the sequel in the Sirumalai forest in Dindigul district. It is well known that Soori was the main protagonist in the first part playing the role of an honest junior cop who helps nab the social activest Vaathiyaar (Vijay Sethupathi) who is branded a terrorist by the police and the government.

'Viduthalai 2' will chronicle the life and rise of Vaathiyaar and hence will have Vijay Sethupathi appearing throughout the film compared to only about ten minutes screen space in the original. Now the news has come that Vijay Sethupathi has a pair in the story and Vetrimaaran has roped in Mollywood Lady Superstar Manju Warrier for the role.

Manju has already worked with Vetrimaaran in 'Asuran' playing the wife of Dhanush which happenned to be her Tamil debut as well. She followed it up with 'Thunivu' in which she shared screenspace with Ajith and is currently playing the chief antagonist in 'Mr. X' that has Gautham Karthik and Arya in the lead.

Manju Warrier's involvement in 'Viduthalai 2' is expected to be announced officially after the agreement formalities are completed. The film has music by Ilayaraja and is produced by Elred Kumar with Vijay Sethupathi, Soori, Bhavani Sre, Gautham Menon, Rajiv Menon, Balaji Shakthivel,Thamizh, Prakash Raj and Surya Vijay Sethupathi playing the principal characters.
