In March this year, Vidja a woman from Germany made shocking allegations against top Tamil actor Arya of cheating her of rupees 71 lakhs. She further added that the actor feigned love with her and promised to marry her but went back on his words and married his current wife.
One Rajapandian of Chennai who is the power of attorney to Vidja filed a case in the Madras High Court seeking CBCID investigation in the issue. The case came up for hearing today and in the petition, it was stated that Arya had promised to marry Vidja and procured the loan of the above-said amount from her.
When she questioned Arya about his marriage to Sayyeshaa, according to her petition, the actor had told her that he agreed to the alliance only because the actress's parents promised to pay all his loans. It is also claimed that Arya promised Vidja that he would divorce Sayyeshaa within six months and then marry her and that's why she agreed to his marriage.
Advocate Anandan who represents Vidja prayed to Judge Nirmal Kumar who is hearing the case to stop the release of Arya's Tamil movie 'Aranmanai 3' and Malayalam movie 'Rendagam' so that his client's money will be returned by the actor. The case has been adjourned to August 17th after the CBCID sought time to produce details of the current standing of the issue.
Arya has received unprecedented acclaim for his brilliant portrayal of a 1970s North Madras boxer in 'Sarpatta Parambarai' directed by Pa. Ranjith and his stylish looks as the villain in the 'Enemy' teaser costarring Vishal also has made him a trendsetter on social media.
