Vidhya Balan in Cannes jury

Kerala born Bollywood actress Vidya Balan has been selected as the member of jury of the prestigious 66th Cannes Film Festival. The nine-member jury, headed by Hollywood director Steven Spielberg, also includes the Life of Pi director Ang Lee, Nicole Kidman, Oscar-winner Christophe Waltz, Japanese director Naomi Kawase, Scottish director Lynne Ramsay, French actor-director Daniel Auteuil and Romanian director Cristian Mungiu. The jury will award the coveted Palme d'Or prize to one of the 19 films in competition at this year's festival.

With her path-breaking roles in films like The Dirty Picture, Kahaani and Parineeta, Vidhya Balan easily emerged the most brainy and talented actress among the Bollwyood lot. She had also won the much coveted National Award for best actress a couple of times.
