A woman in Karnataka's Davanagere is in the news for thrashing a bank manager who had allegedly sought sexual favours from her to approve her a loan.  This incident took place on October 15.  With the video clip of the thrashing incident finding its way into the Internet, the incident has become all the more a talking point.  

The manager's name is Devaiyya and he was approached by the unnamed woman for a loan of Rs. 2 lakhs.  The incident brings to light the insensitivity with which bank managers treat the needy by abusing their discretion.  In the case of women, discrimination is all the more savage.  

The incident is drawing a mixed response from people.  If some of them are of the opinion that we shouldn't jump to conclusions, others are of the view that the woman should not have taken the law into her hands (unless she was beating the man in self-defence).  On the face of it, the manager has done some wrong, going by his body language.
