Hey, the next time someone around you is in need of a CPR, who do you call? A trained doctor or your pet dog? Yes, you read that right, a dog. Well, rescue dogs may get to add yet another skill to their resume: giving a CPR.
Poncho, a police dog in Spain, in a recent drill has earned millions in fans by exactly doing a CPR. Though our canine friends are challenged when it comes to giving mouth to mouth resuscitation,Poncho leaped on and on again on to the police officer’s chest without a second thought. Well, kudos to Poncho, who wouldn’t like to have a pet like that now?
The effort by the Spanish police was to encourage adoption. It is also worth mentioning here that rescue dogs have helped in cases by dialling up emergency medicos. However CPR training in dogs is a thing that is expected to catch up real fast.
