Soon after ISRO scientists lost touch with Vikram, Chandrayaan-2's moon lander, the organization's chief, K Sivan, was heart-broken. He came to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to brief him about the situation. Later, he was seen breaking down due to extreme disappointment. Even as the nation was shocked that the mission didn't go as planned, Sivan's pain was palpable and relatable.
When Sivan started crying, Modi embraced and consoled him. The video clip of this has since gone viral on the Internet and WhatsApp.
"India is proud of our scientists! They have given their best and have always made India proud. These are moments to be courageous, and courageous we will be! Chairman ISRO gave updates on Chandrayaan-2. We remain hopeful and will continue working hard on our space programme," the PM tweeted out today.
