Actor Vicky Kaushal is busy these days with the promotion of his soon to be released film 'Sardar Udham'. Recently, he and director Shoojit Sircar made an appearance on 'The Kapil Sharma Show' and talked about the film and its subject. Vicky is going to play the role of folk hero and revolutionary, Shaheed Udham Singh, a man who travelled to London, the very heart of British Empire, and assassinated General O'Dwyer as a revenge for Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
The role was originally meant for late actor Irrfan Khan but he could not accept it due to health reasons. Since he passed away last year, Vicky and Shoojit have dedicated the whole film to Irrfan Khan. During 'The Kapil Sharma Show', Archana Puran Singh pointed out how difficult it must've been for Vicky to replace Irrfan.
To this, Vicky replied, "Ma’am actually, I am a big fan of Irrfan sir. I feel he’s one of the finest actors in the world,” he said, adding: “I feel that nobody can fit in his shoes, because not only the size but the quality of the shoe itself is unique.” He concluded by saying, “Every shot, every take of this film, is a tribute to Irrfan.
