Emerging superstar Vicky Kaushal was all set to star alongside Sara Ali Khan in a big budget and ambitious sci-fi flick titled 'The Immortal Ashwatthama' but unfortunately the film was put on a back burner due to budget issues. The latest buzz about the project suggests that it is now back on track again and might go on floors by the end of next year. 'The Immortal Ashwatthama' will mark the reunion of Vicky Kaushal with director Aditya Dhar. The duo previously worked together on the blockbuster 'Uri'.

A source close to the development told Pinkvilla, "Director Aditya Dhar has started getting his team back together, and the pre-production work has begun again. A large team of concept artists are working on the film, while Aditya and his team will revisit some of the international locations again in sometime for finalising them. The makers plan to take the film on the floors by 2022 end.”

'The Immortal Ashwatthama' will feature Vicky in an action oriented role for which he had already started preparing. The actor had learnt archery and horseriding for his part. Apart from him and Sara Ali Khan, actors like Jaideep Ahlawat and Suniel Shetty were also offered pivotal roles. However, there hasn't been any confirmation about their casting.
