The 2015 Nandi Awards have thrown up a vibrant list of winners. While some of them were always hot favourites in respective categories, others have come as a surprise.

'Baahubali-The Beginning', it's not surprising, has got awards in more than a few prestigious categories. Best Film, Best Director (Rajamouli), Best Villain (Rana Daggubati), and Best Supporting Actress (Ramya Krishna) are the major awards up its sleeve.

By winning the Best Actor award for 'Srimanthudu' (also the winner of Best Popular Film award), Mahesh has proved one more time that subtlety always pays.

Anushka as the Best Actress for 'Size Zero' deserves it every bit. "Surely, this one is Anushka's one of the best performances; she acts in yet another heroine-oriented film without making us become conscious that the male lead is playing second fiddle to her. Be it with Urvashi, Arya, Master Bharat, or Gollapudi, she strikes an instant rapport with all. Besides shining in delivering light-veined repartees, she does the sentimental part well ("Just friend ga undi alisipoyanu"), emoting her dejection at being seen as a burdensome daughter," IndiaGlitz's review said.

Allu Arjun, the backbone of 'Rudrama Devi', has won the Best Character award for his 'Gammunundavayya' act.

A big surprise is Posani Krishna Murali getting the Best Supporting Actor award for his 'Temper' act. Our review saw that he was quite distinct in the Puri Jagannadh film: "Posani scores over other character artists; imagine him without those stock expressions and typical body language, instead doing some sentiment."

Nag Ashwin has got the best debutante award for 'Evade Subrahmanyam' (also the year's second best film, the third being 'Nenu Sailaja), while Vennela Kishore's 'Bhale Bhale Mogadivoy' comedy has given him a much-deserved Nandi for Best Comedian.

Fittingly, 'Kanche' has been given away the Best film on National Integration. 'Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju' is the best home-viewing film. 'Dana Veera Soora Karna' gets the Nandi as the Best Children's film of 2015.
