Vishwa Hindu Parishad has filed complaints with the Chief Minister's special cell and the Chennai city Police Commissionerate, alleging that a song in 'Uttama Villain' has hurt the sentiments of Hindus.

According to Sathyamurthi, the Chennai district convener of the VHP, certain lines in the song (Iranian Vadham...) in 'Uttama Villain' are derogatory and demean Hindu Gods, especially Lord Maha Vishnu.

"Hence, the government should stop the release of the film," he said. Based on the complaint, Commissioner S George has ordered investigation, it is learnt. Starring Kamal Haasan in the lead, 'Uttama Villain' is directed by Ramesh Aravind.
