Veyyil

Director Shankar must be a happy man. His production venture Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi is doing good at the box-office. His directorial venture Sivaji starring Rajinikanth is shaping up well. What more, expectations are high on his next home production Veyyil being directed by his one-time associate Vasantha Balan. And the movie stars Shankar's lucky mascot Bharath in the lead role.

After Boys and Kadhal, it's three-in-a-row for Bharath in Veyyil with Shankar.

Sharing footage with him is Pasupathy. The happening heroine of Kollywood Bhavana and the 'Thimiru' girl Shriya Reddy are also in the cast as a slum girl plays a totally deglamourised role clad in everyday costumes.

Veyyil, quite typical to the objective of 'S' Pictures, will have an innovative storyline and script.

Says director Vasantha Balan, 'Quite appropriate to the title, we wanted to shoot the movie in a place with blazing sun right through the year. We settled for Virudhunagar. The town came alive again during the shoot as a spate of theatres had closed, shop paving the way for houses and shopping complex to emerge.'

Bharath has an onerous responsibility and he is sure to carry off the burden with ease. Bhavana is also on a hot streak. The cuddly girl is doing several movies now with many stars in Tamil.

Pasupathy, known for his acting prowess, plays a positive and a pivotal role in the movie. Shriya is also expected to deliver her usual punch. But it is a role totally different from that of hers in Thimiru.

G V Prakash (A R Rehman's nephew) has come up with some catchy tunes which are sure to catch the masses, says the director.

Shankar says, 'The trick for a success of a producer lies in picking the right script. Thankfully, I have so far come across quality storyline and script. Veyyil is one such, which is sure to attract the audience'.

Having learnt the lessons well in his debut venture Album, Vasantha Balan is careful in giving the right ingredients for the masses to enjoy.

In his words, 'Veyyil will shower pleasant surprises on the film-buffs'
