Vettai
Lingusamy is one of the very few experts in Tamil cinema, who is specialized at dolling out commercial entertainers which are fit for complete family viewing, at regular intervals. After the stupendous success of 'Paiyaa', the director is back in the hunt, with a film aptly titled 'Vettai'. Produced by Lingusamy's brother Subash Chandra Bose under the Tirupathi Brothers banner, 'Vettai' to be distributed by UTV Motion Pictures is a colourful multi-starrer, with Madhavan, Arya, Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul in lead roles. Madhavan plays an honest police officer, whose name is Thirumurthy, while Arya is his younger brother; say sources close to the unit, adding: A carefree Arya later takes on the action avatar, as circumstances force him to do so. This makes a racy entertainer. Sameera Reddy plays Madhavan's wife and Amala Paul as her sister. Arya falls in love with Amala at the very first sight and their romance scenes will be the highlight of the movie, add sources. Throwing light on 'Vettai', Lingusamy says, "It's shaping up well. Madhavan is a bundle of energy while Arya is amazing. Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul have played their part well." Madhavan, who hopes that 'Vettai' is going to be a perfect start to his second innings in Kollywood, also believes that his character in the action-adventure movie will be loved by everyone. "He (Lingusamy) always believes in strong scripts and characters and I hope this is one of the important reasons behind his success. Vettai is one such film and I love my role in it," says Maddy. The actor, who is sharing the screen space with Arya for the first time, says, "He is a nice guy and we all are having a whale of time while shooting for the film." Remember Madhavan earlier joined hands with Lingusamy for 'Run' and the output was one of the biggest blockbusters of Tamil cinema. "After eight years, I can find the same Lingusamy, who is a thorough professional," Madhavan adds. Equally elated is Sameera Reddy. She says, "Director Lingusamy is taking extra care while shooting each and every scene. We as a team (Madhavan, Arya, Sameera, Amala Paul) are having a blast working for Vettai." |
