It looks like UTV Motion Pictures and Lingusamy's 'Vettai' which was touted to be a Diwali release will now join the Pongal bandwagon along with Shankar's 'Nanban'.

A press report read, "The audio release of the film Vettai is planned for the second week of December and this much awaited film, Vettai, will be released as a Pongal treat".

The shooting of this multi-starrer is taking place in a full swing and a main portion was shot non-stop for forty days in Tuticorin and Tiruchendur recently. Some scenes were also canned at Chalakudy and Kumbakonam. Now the shooting is taking place in and around Chennai.

On November 20, Arya and Amala Paul will be shooting for a song in Dubai. After this, another song will be canned at a set in Hyderabad, the set which was exclusive erected for the song cost whooping 60 lakh rupees! With this grand song, the production work of the film will be wrapped.

'Vettai' that is co-produced by UTV Motion Pictures and Lingusamy's Tirupathi Brothers, has Madhavan, Arya, Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul in the lead roles and the music is by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Cinematography is by Nirav Shah and editing by Antony, art is by Rajeevan.

The 'Vettai' pictures that released recently are brimming with zeal and truly takes one back to the Maddy - Lingu 'Run' days, reminding one of the 'Theradi Veethiyil...' song.
