There is always a charm and attraction in seeing father and son in the same film. Jor, which had Sathyaraj and Sibiraj playing father and son, owed whatever it achieved to the chemistry between the duo.
Vettrivel & Sakthivel, being directed by debutant Lakshmi Priyan, hopes to cash in on the same feeling.

Sathyaraj plays Sibi's father while Kushboo graduates to play the role of Sibi's mother in the movie.
Kurumbu fame Nikitha is the heroine.
It is a movie all about family bondage with romance, humor and action at appropriate places, says Lakahmi Priyan.
To bolster the fun department there is also Vadivelu.
Vadivelu plays Sibi's uncle and he plays a typical comical role in the first part while towards the end he oozes out emotions.
Director Thambi Ramiah, who directed Manu Needhi, takes to acting and plays the villain.
Besides penning the story, screenplay and dialogues, Lakshmi Priyan has written lyrics for three songs, set to tunes by Srikanth Deva.
With Sathyaraj and Vadivelu around, one can expect loads of comedy. `My movie will not disappoint film-buffs, he says and adds, 'with major portion of the movie completed, the movie would be released soon after Deepavali'.
