Actor Vijay Sethupathi, who is playing a key role in the film ‘Arasan’ directed by Vetrimaaran and starring Silambarasan TR (Simbu), has spoken emotionally about the background of joining the project and his work experience with director Vetrimaaran.
Speaking at an award ceremony, Vijay Sethupathi said, “While writing the story, Vetrimaaran sir thought of me for this character. Just the fact that I come to his mind is a great joy. I told him, ‘Sir, go ahead and write it.’ He is a talented director. His knowledge and care are very profound. If you can learn a lot just by talking to someone, imagine how much more you can learn while working with them. Working with Vetrimaaran sir is a comfortable joy. I didn’t even check how many days of shooting it would be. When he asked, I just said, ‘I’m coming.'”
Produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu, ‘Arasan’ is part of the Vada Chennai universe. Simbu stars as the hero, with Vijay Sethupathi in a pivotal role. The first schedule of shooting is underway briskly in Kovilpatti. This schedule is expected to continue until December 24. Following that, the next phase of shooting will begin in Chennai sets.
Reports suggest that the Vetrimaaran-Simbu team is eager to complete the film in a single schedule. Cinematography is handled by R. Velraj, and music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The film is anticipated to release in theaters by the end of next year (2026).
Simbu reuniting with Vijay Sethupathi has created immense excitement among fans. Notably, this marks Vijay Sethupathi’s reunion with Vetrimaaran after the ‘Viduthalai’ series. Expectations for ‘Arasan’ continue to remain at an all-time high!
