"Viduthalai Part 1", a critically acclaimed socio-political thriller directed by the celebrated filmmaker Vetrimaaran, has been a blockbuster success. Following this, the production team started working on the sequel in 2023. However, filming for "Viduthalai Part 2" has yet to be completed. New speculations have emerged regarding the project's progress.

According to sources, the current runtime of "Viduthalai Part 2" exceeds four hours, with about 30 days of filming still required. Rumours suggest that Vetrimaaran is considering splitting the sequel into two parts, resulting in Part 2 and Part 3. Although this news remains unconfirmed, it has sparked widespread discussion online. Fans will have to wait and see how Vetrimaaran navigates his pending projects.

In addition to "Viduthalai Part 2," Vetrimaaran has the long-delayed "Vaadivaasal" with Suriya and producer Thanu on his schedule. The director is expected to finish "Viduthalai Part 2" by the end of this year and then begin work on "Vaadivaasal." Pre-production for "Vaadivaasal" is currently underway, with preparations for animatronic effects in progress.
