Director Vetrimaaran's latest release, 'Viduthalai Part 1', debuted on the big screens last Friday (March 31). It has Soori playing the protagonist alongside Vijay Sethupathi. The film is gaining an enormous response from the audience, which resulted in a fantastic run at the box office.
Now, the latest news is that the film's Telugu dubbing rights have been sold to a renowned production house by the makers. Geetha Arts will dub Viduthalai into Telugu and release it on April 14 in theatres in the Telugu states. The movie is already a profitable venture for the makers and the sequel is set to have a huge opening.
The success of 'Viduthalai Part 1' in Telugu will lead part 2 to have a simultaneous Tamil and Telugu release. Reports state that the film has collected almost Rs 30 crore worldwide in 5 days and it is expected to breach the 50 crore mark by its second weekend. Viduthalai also stars Bhavani Sre, Gautham Menon, Chetan, Rajiv Menon, Prakash Raj and Kishore.
Viduthalai is partly inspired by writer Jeyamohan's 'Thunaivan' novel. It narrates a gut-wrenching tale of some villages suffering from police brutality while the cops are trying to hunt a rebellious group leader. The technical team of the film includes Ilaiyaraaja as the music composer, Velraj as the cinematographer and Ramar as the editor.
