Vetrimaaran's latest film of substance 'Viduthalai 1' starring Soori and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead released worldwide in theaters on March 31st. The film has received both critical acclaim as well as box office success. It is well known that the film received an A certicate (Adults Only) from the CBFC and one has to be above 18 years of age to be admitted inside the theaters.
On Saturday the police raided a multiplex theater in Virugambakkam, Chennai that screened 'Viduthalai 1'. It was found that several parents had brought along their minor children to watch the raw and intense film. When the police ordered that the children leave the hall the people protested. Especially mothers argued the most with the hapless cops stating that when children are allowed to watch films in which women dress in vulgar clothes and do item dances why cant they watch the pain sufferred by women in this film. One Valarmathi refused to take her children out and insisted that parents knew what their children should watch and the A certificate for 'Viduthalai 1' is not for any obscenity.
Though the cops left the movie theater and allowed the show to continue with the children a case has been registered against Valarmathi under three sections including creating disturbance in a public place and trespassing.
